E-books

If you are a student or employee at the Åland University of Applied Sciences you have access to two e-book providers.

E-books have many advantages:

  • Their entire content is searchable
  • Multiple people can read the same book at the same time
  • The books are accessible 24/7
  • There are no queues to reserve books

  • The university’s library provides access to tens of thousands of e-books through Ebook Central. Most of the books are non-fiction and in English. You can also access e-books from home.

    They can be read directly online or you can choose to download them. To download e-books Adobe ID and e-book reader software are required:

    You can create your own account at Ebook Central and save interesting books on your personal bookshelf, mark pages, underline passages, make notes and more besides. You can also save and print out a limited number of pages.

  • Åland’s libraries collectively subscribe to e-books and e-audiobooks with both fiction and non-fiction in Swedish.

    E-books can be borrowed directly through the library catalogue.

    To borrow e-books through Biblio you will need a library card and a PIN code. Library loans via Biblio last 28 days and are limited to three loans per month.
