The university library is in the same building as the Mariehamn City Library. The university library’s material is integrated into the Mariehamn City Library collections with the exception of the university’s coursebooks and theses which are in their own section — the coursebook library.
The coursebook library can be found farthest in on the ground floor behind the information desk. As well as course literature and theses, there are also three study desks with computers reserved for the university’s students.
At the Mariehamn City Library
In addition to the university’s study desk the library provides small study rooms suitable for group work. The library also has very generous opening hours and a large selection of fiction and non-fiction, journals, films and more.
Borrowing books and journals
The lending of all materials is via Mariehamn City Library. The Åland University of Applied Sciences’ books and journals are searchable in the library catalogue, bibliotek.ax where you can also find material from all libraries on Åland.
Library and information service
The university library provides expert guidance information retrieval for all students at the Åland University of Applied Sciences. Teachers, researchers and other staff at the university also have access to the university library services.
